Nutrition day

The H.U.B. (Brussels University Hospital) is taking part in Nutrition Day and raising awareness of malnutrition in hospital environments. The dietetics teams at the Erasmus Hospital, the Jules Bordet Institute and the Queen Fabiola Children's University Hospital are active every day alongside the multidisciplinary nutrition teams. On 10 November, patients from six H.U.B. care units will be invited to participate in Nutrition Day. Launched by the European Society of Clinical Nutrition and Metabolism (ESPEN), Nutrition Day is an audit carried out by hundreds of hospitals and nursing homes worldwide to collect data on the nutritional condition of patients and to compare the results. This initiative is part of the nutritional strategy for patients at risk of malnutrition carried out by dietetics teams in cooperation with multidisciplinary teams. A strategy made possible thanks to the screening tools employed when patients are admitted to hospital, during their hospital stay and at the time of discharge.
